MARBURY'S 'Merry Days' is returning for the first time since 2019, with an American Civil War re-enactment topping the bill for the weekend.

The traditional two-day country fair will be taking place on Saturday, May 14 and Sunday, May 15 in Marbury, outside Whitchurch.

The gates will open at 12.30pm and there will be plenty of attractions for guests.

A spokesman for the event said: "The main attraction this year is a living history camp from the American Civil War Society Ltd with a camp and skirmish displays on both days.

"Other attractions and events include plant stall and cake stall, tombola, bric-a-brac and book stalls, bouncy castles, classic cars and vintage tractors.

"There will also be a Battle of Britain memorial flight Lancaster flypast on Saturday at 2.30pm and Sunday at 1.15pm."

It will be £5 for adults and £1 for people under 16.

People under 16 will be able to get in for free with an adult.

Parking will be free and the proceeds will go towards the upkeep of the St Michaels and All Angels Parish Church in Marbury.
