A WHIXALL man has been told he must wait for the outcome of his criminal damage trial before he is sentenced for failing to make payments for orders.

John Huxley appeared at Shrewsbury Crown Court on Wednesday, March 9 in an insolvency case brought against him for failing to meet payment deadlines for feed ordered from LH Dalton and Son, for £1,600.

However, he is also facing a criminal damage trial in relation to an incident in April 2021, for which he will stand trial later this month.

Judge Peter Barrie accepted the defence's request for an adjournment and said the move was in the defendant's best interests.

He added: "Nothing is lost if you’re only sentenced for these matters as we can deal with it then.

"It makes more sense for courts to deal with sentencing together for the sense of totality so it is probably in your best interests as well."
