Planning, finance and summer events, such as the Queen's Jubilee, will be on the agenda as Wem Town Council will hold its monthly meeting on Thursday.

The meeting will be held on Thursday (tonight) in the Roden Suite, Edinburgh House, New Street, Wem.

There will be a period of 15 minutes where residents of Wem will be able to speak.

The agenda includes the considering of planning applications for the installation of a new shop front affecting a Grade-II listed building at 50 High Street Wem.

Also the installation of two freestanding air source heat pumps affecting a Grade-II listed building at 24 Noble Street, Wem.

In addition, the installation of north boundary 3.45m high fence, covered walkway and associated works on Sunningdale, 9 Mill Street Wem and the reduction of overextended crown on The Plantation, Soulton Road, will be discussed.

Councillors will also discuss finance, including internal controls, accounts for payment and the interim internal audit report.

They will also consider applications received and agree to Town Council Small Grants Awards for 2022-2023.

The council will receive a report on the Platinum Jubilee Steering Group meeting which was held on Tuesday, February 15 and they will consider premises licences for Wem Recreation Ground and town centre.

The meeting will also provide an opportunity to raise items for inclusion on the next agenda for next month.
