A MURDER mystery show with a forgetful difference is being brought to Wem by national comedy star Rob Gee.

The former psychiatric nurse will be performing his one-man show "Forget Me Not-The Alzheimer's Whodunnit" at Wem Town Hall on Friday, March 11 at 7.30pm.

The plot centres around Jim, a retired police detective with dementia whose wife has died from what appears to be natural causes, but Jim is suspicious and launches an investigation.

The show has been booked by Arts Alive.

Ian Kerry, executive director at Arts Alive, said: "At the heart of Forget Me Not is a detective, whose tool of the trade, his mind, is failing him, making the most important case of his life something of a challenge to solve.

"Hilarious and thought-provoking in equal measures, this one-man comedy poetry theatre show has a lot to say about how we treat and perceive people with dementia.

"Thank you to Wem Town Hall for giving this show a platform in Shropshire."

The show has received praise from reviewers.

The Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC) described it as: "Smart, witty, razor-sharp, part social commentary, part black comedy and part cluedo and as funny, and heart-breaking as hell."

Before becoming a comedian, Rob worked as a psychiatric nurse for 12 years.

The show is suitable for people over the age of 14.

Tickets are £12 for adults and £7 for people under 18.

Wem Town Hall is also Dementia friendly.
