THE National Farmers’ Union annual conference returns later this month.

Taking place at the ICC in Birmingham between February 22 and 23, the event will host expert sessions exploring this year’s theme, ‘British farming: a blueprint for the future’.

A spokesperson said: “We have two packed days of sessions at NFU Conference this year, featuring keynote speeches from industry leaders and political heavyweights.”

The NFU has already released its programme to look at how it will be discussing the future of agriculture and horticulture.

The first day will include a political address by Environment Secretary Georgie Eustice MP followed by a question and answer session chaired by NFU president Minette Batters.

Meanwhile, other talks will look at the uncertainty facing the industry, as well as debates looking at how secure Britain’s food supply is, and the future of the livestock industry.

The first day will be rounded off with the regional Meurig Raymond awards.

The following day will look at world farming, the environment, as well as the annual general meeting.
