FIVE fire engines, including the aerial appliance, were called out to a Chester city centre restaurant on Wednesday night (January 19).
Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service was deployed to the incident at 6.56pm after The Standard understands a fire alarm went off in Boujee on Pepper Street.
Due to the building's fire alarm system being linked with adjacent buildings including the Grade II-listed Opera Grill, and being located in Chester city centre, the fire service treats such incidents as a top priority to prevent any potential spread of fire damage.
Customers were able to continue dining in Boujee and the adjacent restaurants during the incident.
Upon arrival, fire crews conducted safety checks on the building block.
Boujee is a relative newcomer to Chester's dining scene, having opened its doors in November 2021. It also has other dining venues in Liverpool and Manchester.
It forms part of a revitalised block of restaurants on Pepper Street, along with Artezzan, Opera Grill and Izakaya Lounge, and is opposite the new Leonardo Hotel.
