THE popular music night, North Shropshire Folk, is back in action next month with The Jeremiahs, a lively Irish band not to be missed.

The gig evening will return to its spiritual home at The Talbot Theatre, Whitchurch Leisure Centre, – at Sir John Talbot School – on Friday, February 25 at 8pm.

A spokesman for the event says the band will be bringing an even mix of old and new to the gig.

They said: "The Jeremiahs are four musicians who have come together with the common goal of writing, composing and performing folk songs and music.

"They have travelled extensively, bringing their music far and wide and are heralded as a live band not to be missed, having won numerous folk awards including the Christy Moore Songwriter Showcase 2015.

"With a wonderful mixture of newly composed songs and tunes in the folk genre and a well selected catalogue of older folk songs, they are sure to rouse all the emotions.

"Hailing from County Dublin is singer Joe Gibney with County Cork's Niamh Varian-Barry (formerly Solas) on fiddle, viola and vocals.

"On flute and whistle is the French born Julien Bruneteau and on guitar is Dublin-born James Ryan."
