FIREFIGHTERS from North Wales and Shropshire were called to the scene of a road traffic collision (RTC) in Whitchurch at the weekend.

The incident involved one vehicle.

Whitchurch Fire Station received a call about the incident at 3.47pm and one engine, from Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service, was despatched to the scene.

North Wales Fire and Rescue Service were also called and a crew from Wrexham was sent to the scene and attended to the casualty in the vehicle.

A press spokesperson for North Wales Fire and Rescue Service said: “We were called to a road traffic collision involving one vehicle on Ellesmere Road, Bronington, Whitchurch at 2.51pm on Saturday.

"One crew from Wrexham and one crew from Whitchurch (Shropshire FRS) attended and one male casualty was extricated by firefighters using cutting equipment.”
