A WALKING group for Ellesmere has got its new year underway with a variety of walks around the town and surrounding villages.
The Mere Ambles walking group is urging people to joint hem to 'blow the cobwebs away' this January with a choice of walks either a nice gentle walk and a chat with fellow walkers or a longer walk for the more able walkers.
A spokesman said: "All walks are free of charge and lead by trained walk leaders – sorry no dogs allowed.
"Next week's walks are on Wednesday, January 5 (today) both walks start at 10am sharp.
"One hour walkers meet at the wharf at 9.45am.
"The one-hour walk will be the Loop Circular, a local walk around the lanes and roads of Ellesmere you may not know about.
"Your walk leader will be Angela.
The two-hour plus walk – Welshampton Circular – to walk lanes, roads and towpaths in the area (cars)
"Parking is at Welshampton Village Hall and your walk leader will be Dave.
"Enjoy your walks."
