Tributes have been paid to a Whitchurch town councillor who has died after a short illness.
Councillor Alan Cooper died on January 3.
Cllr Cooper was elected to represent the West Ward of Whitchurch Town in May 2021.
He served on the planning committee, the civic committee, and the finance committee.
Councillor Andy Hall, deputy mayor of Whitchurch Town Council, said: “We are all extremely saddened by the passing of our friend and colleague, Cllr Alan Cooper.
“This is a very sad loss for the community of Whitchurch.
“Cllr Cooper was passionate about representing local residents and very much a community minded man who only wanted the best for the town.
“On behalf of the entire council, I would like to express our deepest condolences to Alan’s family – our thoughts are with them at this sad time.”
