THE NFU is encouraging farmers to promote their produce during January.
They are asking farmers to promote climate-friendly food produced by them and their fellow farmers via social media.
An NFU spokesperson said: “No matter what food you produce, together we’ve got a great story to tell.
“From innovative ways of tackling climate change to sophisticated breeding built on years of know-how, we all believe our food is the best in the world, to be enjoyed all year round.
“British farmers produce food to some of the highest standards in the world, and are committed to reaching net zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2040.
“There is so much to be proud of in British farming, and with the support of the public - over a million people have signed our food standards petition - the new year is always a great time to celebrate great British food.”
