PLANNING items will dominate the first Ellesmere Town Council meeting of 2022 on Tuesday as councillors will be asked to give their thoughts on currently plans.

The meeting, which takes place at Ellesmere Town Hall in Willow Street, from 7.15pm, will consider two applications currently submitted to Shropshire Council, with comments forming view on whether they should be supported.

The main application is for land west of Grange Road, where there is a re-submitted proposal to change the its use for employment purposes.

The original application was refused in March 2021 after there was need for furth eco assessments but the plans were re-submitted to Shropshire Council on Tuesday, December 14.

A second set of plans to be assessed by Ellesmere councillors is for an application to build a two-storey side extension, including a Juliet balcony, at Luanda in Swan Hill.

Meanwhile, there will be a planning enforcement case heard by councillors in the private session of council, which excludes the public and press.

Councillors will receive a confidential report on a planning enforcement case.

In the same session, councillors will also be asked to rubber stamp the information received in a confidential business report issued on Monday, December 6.

Other items on the brief agenda include a 10-minute public session where councillors can be asked about issues not on the agenda or for people to raise specific issues.

There will be a report from West Mercia Police and finance issues will also be discussed.
