FOR MOST children, Christmas Eve is a day of excitement ahead of opening presents the next day.
But one Whitchurch youngster will be spending his Christmas Eve thinking of others, by donating gifts to charity.
Riley Raynor-Swann, who is nine-years-old, has launched a fundraiser in partnership with Shrewsbury charity ARK to support those who are homeless.
He is hoping to raise £200 and is quickly nearing his target, having already raised more than £160, with funds raised going towards buying essential items.
On the fundraiser, Riley said: "This Christmas Eve I want to spend my time helping those in need, specifically those who have no option but to be living on our streets.
"My aim is to raise £200 to allow me to put together some gifts to try and bring a smile and hope back to the most vulnerable during the festive season.
"Together with the ARK in Shrewsbury I want to share what I can to those in need.
"Alongside a token gift I will be sharing mince pies and whatever else I can.
"Please help me, to help our homeless."
