EMPLOYEES from Whitchurch's A41 McDonald's were joined by crew members from nearby stores to help undertake a huge litter pick.

A group of 15 crew members from McDonald’s restaurant in Whitchurch, plus from Wrexham, the A55 store near Mold and Holywell alongside the franchisee, Stewart Williams, recently teamed up with the Flintshire County Council Rangers to clean up the Bagillt Coastal Path in Bettisfield.

Following the litter pick the volunteers assisted in raking a protected meadow in the Natterjack Toad Enclosure in Bettisfield.

An impressive 20 bags of litter were collected as part of McDonald’s Keep Up the Clean Up campaign, which will see teams of McDonald’s volunteers all around the country take to the streets this year to tackle litter in their communities.

Mr Williams, who owns and operates the restaurants who volunteered, said: “McDonald’s has been collecting litter in our communities for nearly 40 years and it’s more important than ever we continue in the fight against litter.

"I’d like to thank my team for giving their time to do their bit for our community and ensure that the Flintshire area is an enjoyable place to live, work and visit.

"We are really happy with the difference we made.”
