ST JOHN'S Methodist Church in Whitchurch will remain more festive than usual for another weekend, with an extension to the Christmas Tree Festival.

The festival, which has been a popular fixture on the church's calendar for several years, opened last weekend.

There were a number of trees on display, from local community groups and businesses, and visitors were able to enjoy a mince pie and mulled wine.

For those that missed the previous weekend's event, the church will once again open its doors this weekend.

A spokesman for t he church said: "The Christmas Tree festival at St. John’s Methodist Church has returned this year.

"If you missed it this last weekend, you have another chance next Saturday, December 11 from 10am to 4pm.

"There are 24 trees which have been sponsored and decorated by various organisations in the town, including all the schools.

"A Prayer Tree has been sponsored for you to attach your own personal Christmas message remembering a loved one.

"Tea, coffee and mince pies will be always available

"Come and look at the decorated trees and enjoy a time of peace and tranquillity among the beautiful surroundings.

"Entrance is free but any donations will be gratefully received towards the St John’s Heritage Property Fund."
