BUSINESSES in Ellesmere have given a Christmas boost to the town’s Our Space community hub.
Based in the town’s former cottage hospital in Trimpley Street, the centre provides a range of facilities including day care for older people and adults with learning difficulties.
Manager Rachel Davies said its appeal for help in providing activities and resources has led to them to being able to provide more.
She said: “We are running various Christmas activities for the people we support, including prize bingo and a trip to the pantomime at Whitchurch Civic Centre.
"We put out a request on social media asking businesses for donations.
"We’ve had such an amazing response that we now have enough to put together hampers for our users and run a Christmas raffle as well.
"This will help to fund new projects including indoor gardening.
“We are very grateful for the wonderful support we’ve had from the community in Ellesmere and the Whitchurch pantomime organisers who gave us free tickets.
"A big thank-you to everyone who donated. It’s very much appreciated.”
