A MALPAS-based electrical firm has revealed it will be sponsoring Hollywood-backed football club Wrexham AFC.

Barlows, based in Hampton, supported the club late last year, by stepping in at the last minute to repair the football ground's iconic floodlights.

In 2020, Wrexham AFC was taken over by actors Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney, and a series of international companies have since taken up sponsorship, but Barlows joins as a ‘local’ sponsor.

Matthew Scott, from Barlows, said he was delighted to sponsor the club.

He said: "Barlows are delighted to become a partner of the football club during these exciting times.

"The club is becoming more visible in the community which is a good thing and something we strongly believe in, taking on a lot of apprentices and a lot of contracts within the Wrexham area.

"We feel it's going to continue to help us strengthen our ties locally and with the community and we're excited to be part of the Wrexham journey as it improves and goes along."
