WHITCHURCH Alport secured their biggest win of the Midlands Premier League season with a 4-victory against Uttoxeter Town.

Alex Hughes opened the scoring before Jud Ellis doubled the lead with substitutes Elikem Amenku and Celson Segunda putting the icing on top of the cake after the break.

The match was just 11 minutes old when Alex Hughes opened the scoring.

Dan Skelton thought he had increased the lead midway through the half, but a linesman’s flag soon curtailed the celebrations.

Alport were not to be denied and Ellis doubled the lead before the break.

After the interval, Uttoxeter remained under the cosh and Hughes rattled a post on the hour.

Manager Luke Goddard made a couple of changes in the last 20 minutes and Amenku had barely had time to break a sweat before finishing well from a pinpoint Hughes pass.

With just five minutes to play came the best goal of the afternoon with Segunda skilfully skipping past the visiting defence to fire home.

Elsewhere Wem Town lost 1-0 at Church Stretton Town in the Salop Leisure Shropshire Premier League.
