ELLESMERE will again throw pumpkins to the wind next month.
A new tradition in the town, the 'pumpkin propulsion' event is run by the town's arts group Fizzgigs.
First held in 2019, the fun event sees leftover Hallowe'en pumpkins hurled from a trebuchet, and judged on the basis of whose travels the furthest.
It is due to take place the first Sunday after Hallowe'en, on November 7 at Birch Road Rec from 2pm, and allows people to bring their own leftover pumpkins.
A spokesman for Fizzgigs encouraged residents to come along.
They said: "Want to give your pumpkin a fitting end?
"Then let Fizzgigs give it a 'Final Fling' in the fabulous Fizzgigs trebuchet."
Last year's event saw a total of 57 pumpkins fired across the field, with the record set by ‘Shelly’ at 76 meters.
