FIREFIGHTERS from Whitchurch and Chester had brief callout to Malpas on Monday evening, to a hedge fire in the village.
At around 5.40pm firefighters were called to reports of an outdoor fire in Springfield Avenue, Malpas, involving a short stretch of conifer hedge.
The fire was out on arrival though, and the crews used a thermal imaging camera to look for hotspots.
Once they were satisfied that the fire was fully out and the hedge was safe, firefighters left the scene.
They were in attendance for less than 10 minutes.
