TWO charities based in Shropshire, including Oswestry's Hope House, are the latest to benefit from donations from a charity shop in Ellesmere.

Jessica Druce for Severn Hospice and Lynsey Kilvert for Hope House joined Doreen Roberts, chairman of Ellesmere League of Friends charity shop in Scotland Street, with volunteers Mary Goulbourne and Cathryn Hopley, to receive cheques for their respective charities.

Doreen said it was the latest donations made by the Friends, including support which also recently given to Ellesmere Bowling Club for the installation of a defibrillator.

Doreen added: "The League of Friends, through its charity shop, is committed to giving support to the Community Care Centre in Trimpley Street but also to initiatives that enhance the quality of life for the health and social wellbeing of our Ellesmere community.

"We invite representatives, particularly of voluntary community groups, to apply for funding to support their cause."
