FIREFIGHTERS were called to a tree on fire in Wem on Friday afternoon.
The incident was reported shortly after 2pm, in Eckford Park and saw a crew from the town dispatched.
The blaze involved undergrowth, a compost heap and a 20-metre-tall conifer tree.
The crew used a hosereel jet to tackle the fire, as well as rakes, shovels and mathooks and left the scene around an hour later.
