A FATHER and son team at estate agents Barbers, which has a branch in Whitchurch, have raised a large sum for a Shropshire-based charity after completing the London Marathon.
Mike Arthan, along with his son Matthew, completed the course in under five hours, beating his time from his previous London Marathon 26 years ago.
For their efforts, the duo were able to raise £3,000 for the Lingen Davies Cancer Fund.
A spokesman for Barbers congratulated the pair on their achievement.
They said: "Both came in under the five-hour mark, with Mike's time of four hours 46 minutes being a 48-minute improvement on his last effort, 26 years ago.
"Matthew, Barbers' sales director, and Mike, our property consultant, raised a fantastic £3,000 for the Lingen Davies Cancer Fund thanks to their hard-work both on and off the track.
"We're incredibly proud of their achievement and hopefully Mike won't wait another 26 years before his next entry."
