WEM Civic Society will explore the airfields of north Shropshire this month with a talk from author and journalist Toby Neal.
Toby has lived in Shropshire for 40 years, and has written features and books about aspects of Shropshire history.
The talk will take place on Tuesday, October 19 from 7.30pm at Wem Town Hall.
Shelagh Richardson, chairman of Wem Civic Society, said the group would also discuss the new heritage project.
She said: "Shropshire and its airfields were not quiet rural backwaters during the Second World War, those airfields occasionally served on the front line with resulting attacks and damage from enemy aircraft.
"There will also be an update on the plans for the new heritage project and future events.
"The meeting is on Tuesday, October 19 starting at 7.30pm.
"It will be held in Wem Town Hall, in the main hall downstairs.
"The talk is free to members of the society; non-members can attend on the payment of £2.50."
