WHITCHURCH Alport host Midlands Premier Division league leaders Lye Town on Saturday.

Alport will bid to notch their first win of the season with currently just two points on the board.

Manager Luke Goddard, is hopeful that defender Aaron Simms will return from injury and George Carpenter and Adam Clayton are also in contention.

“We’ve done really well with Aaron missing and special mention to Jack Griffiths who has been superb at the heart of the defence,” said Goddard.

“We saw in the last fixture that we could go toe to toe against a very good side.

Meanwhile the club's under 18s side celebrated a 3-0 win at home to Shrewsbury Juniors courtesy of a Mateusz Dudek double and Taylor Griffiths strike.

Elsewhere Steve Hole's double inspired Ellesmere Rangers' comeback in a 3-3 draw at home to Cheadle Heath Nomads in the North West Counties League South.

Ryan Morgan also netted for Rangers with Wilf Riley replying with a double and Kyle Foley also on target.

Elsewhere Wem Town crashed to a 3-0 defeat at home to Hodnet while Prees United slipped to a 2-1 defeat at home to Shrewsbury UAC in the Salop Leisure Premier League with Chris Owen netting for the hosts who also saw Mike Williams sent off.
