POLICE are investigating whether the fire at Wem Business Park, was started deliberately.
A West Mercia Police spokesman said it is currently too soon to give a cause of the blaze which broke out at around 12.20am on Wednesday, October 6 morning, with six fire crews from across the area dispatched.
Crews worked until around 10.45am tackling the fire, with New Street Closed until that time.
Spotted at the scene was a West Mercia Police Crime Scene Investigation van, and the force has now confirmed it is investigating the incident.
A spokesman said: "Officers are carrying out enquiries after a fire at a unit on Wem Business Park in the early hours of this morning.
"The cause of the fire is not yet known and enquiries are on-going to establish if it was started deliberately.
"Anyone with information should report this online under the Tell Us About section www.westmercia.police.uk using reference 00025_I_06102021.
"Alternatively, if you do not wish to speak to police you can report this anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111."
The blaze led to the power supply being turned off to a number of properties, however Scottish Power confirmed it had been returned by the end of the morning.
