ELLESMERE Primary School will celebrate Hallowe'en next month with a return of the popular scarecrow festival.

Last year an army of straw men descended on the town, to raise funds for the school as well as provided some joy for local residents.

As the event was so popular, Tammy Griffiths from school has helped organise the event for a second year.

She said: "Last year we created this event to spread a little happiness during a difficult year.

"It proved so popular that we have decided to do it again.

"We are asking local businesses, groups and the community of Ellesmere to join us in making more Scarecrows.

"We will ask that the scarecrows are up for the week of half term, which is October 23-31.

"We are asking for a donation of £5 per scarecrow.

"To enter please email tgriffiths@ellesmereprimaryschool.org.uk

"Payment can be made via Arbor for school members or to Tammy Griffiths for the Ellesmere Community.

"There will be prizes for our favourite halloween scarecrow, the funniest scarecrow and the most unique scarecrow."
