WHITCHURCH will enjoy bouzouki jams this month with multi-instrumentalist Jack Rutter performing in town.

Rutter will perform on Saturday, October 9 at the Talbot Theatre at Whitchurch Leisure Centre, Sir John Talbot's school.

The show is being organised by North Shropshire Folk, and Jenny Matthews from the group promised an evening of the best traditional folk music.

She said: "North Shropshire Folk is back with singer, bouzouki player and multi-instrumentalist Jack Rutter.

"One of Britain's finest traditional singers, Jack grew up in the Holme Valley area of West Yorkshire, a place steeped in a wealth of traditional song, and forged a highly successful career playing music across the Uk and Europe.

"In addition to his acclaimed solo work, he has become a highly sought after collaborator for a host of the biggest names in folk music such as Seth Lakeman, Sam Sweeney and Jackie Oates, as well as playing in the celebrated instrumental trio Moore, Moss Rutter."

Tickets at £12, with £10 concessions and £6 for under 18's are available from the website www.northshropshirefolk.com, the leisure centre on 01948 660660 or on 07506724572.
