LIVE shows will return to Wem Town Hall next month, with musical and comedy performances set to entertain.

On October 9, the venue will host a live music experience from The People's String Foundation.

The performance will see the band pack a 23-piece Gypsy Orchestra into a suitcase and wow the audience with music, puppetry, art, cinematography and animation, all set to the backdrop of a virtual orchestra.

Hannah Morgan, from the Wem Town Hall Community Trust, said a topical comedy show would also be taking place on October 12.

She said: "We're also hosting our first comedy theatre show since the lockdowns – Jabs!

"A comedy performance by comedienne Sally Tonge, directed by radio's Chris Eldon Lee, sharing the hilarious people and stories Sally came across when she retrained as an NHS vaccinator.

"Her vaccination pod was the smallest theatre in the world and the procession of people stepping into it were pure comedy gold.

"Proceeds go towards Wem Town Hall Community Trust, we rely on the generosity of the public to help keep our venue running."
