A WEIGHT-loss winner from Wem has improved her quality of life after shedding more than four stone through lockdown.
With the help from her friends and members of her Slimming World class, Elaine Shaw, 64, has gone from a dress size 18 to 12.
Elaine says her weight-loss journey began after contacting Tina Hayward, from the group's Wem and Whitchurch branch.
"My journey began after I was diagnosed with an under-active thyroid and was shocked at how much weight I had put on, I was at my heaviest," said Elaine.
"I contacted my local Slimming World consultant as I had worries that I wouldn't be able to lose weight, however Tina reassured me that wasn't the case.
"I've lost an incredible four stone and 12 pounds and I am now a lifetime target member, reaching my target weight in just nine months."
Meanwhile Tina says she is proud of Elaine's progress.
"Elaine has blossomed into a more confident lady and each week she gives plenty of support to everyone," said Tina.
"We've stuck together, we've laughed and cried together but most importantly we've supported and motivated each other.
"While Covid stripped us of hugs, made us social distance from each other, cover our smiles in face masks, it didn't stop us cheering each other on and being supportive of each other.
"This year has been a very difficult time for all our members however, I'm extremely proud of my Wem and Whitchurch members who have adapted to the Coronavirus lockdowns and not let it deter their goals."
