IT IS a question which has often been raised but with no definitive answer.

Following International Burger Day this week the Herald once again poses the question - where can you get the best burger in north Shropshire?

Of course the answer is relative, one person's perfect burger may not be the choice of another.

The Whitchurch Herald turned to TripAdvisor to share the top five rated establishments for burgers in north Shropshire.

Oswald's Cross - Oswestry

Reviewer Oswald T said: "Came at lunchtime last week and loved my vegan burger. I've been here before and enjoyed the service and food then also so its nice to see it wasn't a one off.

"I work in hospitality myself and worked for a beach chain restaurant so I can appreciate how hard they work and with covid pressure its nice to see it hasn't affected the service. Hayley was extremely helpful going through the allergens with me to meet my dietary requirements. Will definitely be back."

The Highwayman - Oswestry

Reviewer VickyMJ10 said: "I recently went for food and drinks with my family from Anglesey and had a lovely meal. We had a variety of food from scampi to mixed grill to burgers to hunters chicken and we all agreed that it was lovely and every bit was eaten. The staff were amazing. We will definitely be going back. Well done all."

Reuben's Bar and BBQ - Whitchurch

Reviewer Whatup13 said: "Absolutely amazing food! We ordered two of the main meal boxes and the food was delicious. We had a chicken bacon burger and a beef bacon burger. I can’t stress how yummy they were! We also had bacon loaded fries which were equally as tasty. We both would definitely recommend eating here."

Calrosleee added: "We’ve had takeaways from Reubens on a regular basis over the past 18 months. The burgers are imaginative and taste incredible. Portions are generous and prices are reasonable. The best food in Whitchurch without a doubt."

Bull and Dog - Whitchurch

Reviewer KGH1818 said: "Popped in on the off chance, not been here before. Was lovely. Service was great. Hand sanitizer stations, staff in masks, track and trace in place, well organised. Best nachos we have ever had. Would come back just for those.

"Meal portions were huge. Shared nachos, I had veggie burger and husband had pie. Don't think we will be eating again for a week so we are so full. Veggie burger was excellent.
