BUSINESS leaders in Whitchurch were served up a 'magical' evening at their latest meeting.

The town's business group met in the grounds of the Dodington Lodge to discuss the latest issues, with members of the town council also present

And the evening's entertainment was provided by local magician, musician and hypnotherapist Rob Chapman, who put on a show to the delight of the 25 plus people present.

Hilary Seward, one of the group's founders, was pleased with the outcome of the meeting.

She said: "Another fabulous meeting for the WBG in the garden of the Dodington Lodge Hotel.

"Well attended with in excess of 25 people enjoying friendly, constructive group discussions, with some staying to chat over a beer well into the evening.

"Good friendships are being built and business likes created.

"Rob treated us to a short demonstration of his talents, engaging everyone and being very entertaining at the same time.

"Pete Lea our council representative was questioned by Baz Fewster from Whitchurch walkers about the issues they are having with footpaths being overgrown and inaccessible and the frustration that all messages to Whitchurch Council and Shropshire Council for help are not responded to.

"Pete Lea explained that Whitchurch Council is experiencing some challenges and encouraged everyone to try to make a meeting to see for them selves what is happening.

"The WBG's next meeting is the Big Business Event on September 8 from 1pm onwards at the Dodington Lodge.

"Members will have a stand for free as will faith groups, voluntary groups, sports groups, other businesses who wish to have a stand will be charged a nominal fee.

"Open to the public.
