STAND-UP comic Seann Walsh will be in Whitchurch on Friday to headline the latest big show for the town's comedy festival.

The observational comic, who has appeared on the likes of 'Live At The Apollo', '8 Out of 10 Cats' and 'The Jonathan Ross Show', will take centre stage in the marquee on the lawns of the Dodington Lodge Hotel.

His appearance comes a couple of weeks after Mock The Week star Ed Byrne enthralled the audience with his set in front and was called back for an encore.

Walsh will be supported on Friday by one-liner king Mark Simmons – who himself recently made his TV debut on Mock The Week – and hotly tipped up and comer Peter Rethinasamy.

Host again will be resident MC Wayne Beese, whose Funny Beeseness firm are organising the festival.

He said: “We can’t wait to welcome Seann to Whitchurch.

"We’ve spoken to a few comics who have been working with him since restrictions were eased and his new stuff is going down a storm, so it should be a great night.

“The festival is only in town for a few weeks, and we’ve been getting rave reviews.

"The atmosphere has been electric and it’s been great to see people out and about enjoying live entertainment again.

“Come and have a look for yourselves – you won’t regret it.”

Also confirmed to appear at the Doddy for Whitchurch Comedy Festival are Tom Stade, Paul Sinha and Rich Hall.

Henning Wehn and Russell Kane will wind up proceedings with two big shows at the town’s Civic Centre.
