The popular Whitchurch Flower and Produce Show is set to return after it was cancelled last year due to Covid-19 restrictions.

The show which is organised by Whitchurch Garden Club on behalf of the town and wider area will take place on Saturday, August 21 in the sports hall at the Civic Centre from 2pm.

The club has moved the event to a larger room to provide more space and ventilation.

Clive Payne, from the club, said: "Last year we ran a smaller members only show but this year we are pleased to be able to return to a larger show that is open to the public and open to all to enter."

The show includes classes for dahlias, chrysanthemums, flowers and pot plants, fruit and vegetables, floral art, culinary art and photography.

There will be refreshments available and a raffle.

The show will finish with an auction of produce that will begin at 3.30pm.

Clive added: "The show attracts exhibitors from Whitchurch and adjacent towns and villages. It will be good for them to meet up again.

"We hope to put on a good show."

There is still time to enter the show. Schedules and entry forms can be obtained from Mrs M. Cliff, the show secretary on 01948 663398 or email whitchurchhorticulture@yahoo.com.

Entries must be submitted by Tuesday, August 17, 2021.
