AN ELLESMERE man says he is looking for as much as support as he can receive in his bid to set up a charity football match.

Kieran Davies, who is a football commentator, put the appeal out on social media as he is in the early stages of organising the clash.

He says his work in football has allowed him to develop contacts that can help on the playing side, but he has appealed to fans, organisers and local businesses to help him achieve his goal.

"It's right in the early stages," he said.

"I've been involved in a few charity games with my football commentary and I thought that it doesn't happen too often around here.

"In doing these games, I've made some decent contacts so hopefully I will be to get a few people there.

"I want to use this to do something positive."

Kieran added that he has big targets for the game, including using the home of Ryan Reynolds-owned Wrexham FC.

But he wants to bring in many of the clubs based in and around Ellesmere for their support and to help create a community event.

He added: "We're looking at some big grounds and ideally I would like to use Wrexham's Racecourse Ground or TNS – we want this to be a ticketed game and to be able to stream it so the bigger the better.

"Ellesmere Rangers have been in touch and they're willing to do something.

"We're looking for people to get involved with all kinds of help, from people leading up to it and local sponsors.

"We want as many clubs as possible to be involved in the day to help us make it a positive community event.

"So we're looking for people to help us."
