A GROUP of 'hopping mad' comedians will visit Whitchurch next month for an evening of 'spontaneity and silliness'.

Arts Alive, a Shropshire and Herefordshire-based events organiser, is bringing Box of Frogs to the Dodington Lodge.

The Birmingham-based improv group will rely on audience participation for their two shows, one for the children in the day and a more mature show in the evening.

Cerin Mills, live events programmer for Arts Alive, said both shows would be 'unique'.

"The events that unfold during the show are based entirely on the audience's suggestions, so whether you have been lucky enough to see them before or not, it will be a unique show for all," she said.

"We have two shows lined up on the day – one for a family audience in the afternoon and a show for the grown-ups in the evening."

The group will be performing entirely without a script to create a night of 'Whose Line Is It Anyway' type comedy, with improvised songs, stories, and silliness.

"Expect the unexpected as these quick-witted improv stars conjure up hilarious spontaneous songs, sketches and scenes on the spur of the moment," added Cerin.

"Each performance is completely different – the only certainty is the comedic skill in action."

Box of Frogs Improv Comedy comes to Dodington Lodge on Saturday, August 7.

The family show is suitable for ages seven plus at 3pm, with tickets at £6 each.

The main show is at 7.30pm and is suitable for ages 16 plus.

Tickets can be purchased by visiting artsalive.co.uk, calling Dodington Lodge on 01948 662539 or buying them in person from their reception.
