THE Met Office has issued its first ever 'extreme' heat warning for much of north Shropshire this week.
In place until Friday, the amber weather warning for extreme heat extends across parts of south Wales, the West Midlands, southern and southwestern England.
The mercury is set to soar over 25C across north Shropshire throughout this week, with temperatures of 27-28C expected.
The Met Office say that high temperatures are expected both by day and by night this week, peaking on Thursday before temperatures fall on Friday.
Temperatures will fall slightly for the weekend, with rain also expected.
