IT WAS a busy afternoon for firefighters from Whitchurch and Wem on Saturday, with a number of incidents requiring emergency services.
The first incident happened at around 5.30pm, on the A41 near Grindley Brook.
One crew was dispatched from Whitchurch to the incident, which was a collision involving at motorcyclist.
Also at the scene of the incident were the air ambulance, the land ambulance service and West Mercia Police.
Oxygen and first aid was administered to the motorcyclist, who was airlifted to hospital.
Emergency services were on the scene for around 45 minutes while the incident was cleared.
At around 7.15pm, firefighters from Wem were called to an incident in Northwood, involved an errant electricity cable.
One crew was dispatched to the incident, which involved a cable was arcing in a field, causing a small fire.
The crew extinguished the fire after the utility company isolated the cable.
The incident was resolved shortly before 9pm.
And shortly after midnight, Whitchurch fire fighters were called into action once again, this time to help their colleagues over the border in Wales.
The incident involved a fire in the open in Redbrook, which was dealt with around 35 minutes later.
