PLANT lovers should head to Cholmondeley Castle this month for the summer plant hunters' fair.

As well as having the opportunity to peruse the plants on offer, those who attend will also have access to the castle's gardens.

The fair will be taking place on Sunday, July 18 and tickets are on sale at £4.

Martin Blow, of Plant Hunters' Fairs, says those attending will have a chance to receive advice on how to get the most out of their plants, as well as enjoying the garden surroundings.

He said: "This event is such great value we know you'll be bringing your friends and family to make a day of it in the romantic gardens and grounds of the castle.

"The brilliant independent specialist nurseries will be bringing a great mix of plants to delight plant lovers of every level of experience.

"This is a great opportunity to find the right plants to set your summer garden ablaze with colour and add a sparkle to a shady spot.

"If you need some advice to help you choose then there are nursery folk on hand to help, each an expert in their field with years of knowledge and experience, and full of helpful tips."

He added: "The lovely garden at Cholmondeley Castle has a newly replanted rose garden with over 350 roses and the new 100-metre-long double herbaceous borders should be looking wonderful."

Dogs on leads are welcome at the fair and refreshments are available from the garden café or visitors can bring a picnic.

The plant fair runs from 10am to 5pm on Sunday, July 18 and is entry by advanced purchased ticket only.
