PREES Under-18s are celebrating after once again winning their league, this time with several games to spare.
Over the last couple of seasons, Prees U18s have turned the Shropshire County Minor Football League into a one-horse race, currently on a 37-game unbeaten run.
This season alone the team have won 10 out of 11 games played so far, drawing one and have a goal difference of 46.
Second place in the table meanwhile, St Martins U18, have seven wins, two draws and four defeats, having played two more games.
On Sunday, May 23, Prees marked their successful season with a 12-0 defeat of bottom of the table side Shawbury United Juniors U18.
After the match the team were presented with a trophy by Trevor Owen, league secretary of The Shropshire County Minor Football League.
Team parent representative, Malcolm Walker-Smith, praised the success of the team, players and management alike.
He said: "It is great for the boys to be playing football again after the Covid break, great set of lads who all get on well and work hard under the direction of Kev Mason, team manager and Sam Flory, assistant coach.
They're developing into a really good side.
"They've won 37 games on the trot in the Shropshire Junior League, which is quite a tough league.
"This season they've won the league outright for the second time."
