WHITCHURCH North councillors Peggy Mullock and Tom Biggins have once again been elected to Shropshire Council.
The Conservative pair, who also won together four years ago, beat off strong competition with Cllr Mullock – who is a popular figure around Whitchurch – once again securing a four-figure vote.
However, while Cllr Biggins own election was closer with Liberal Democrat candidate Nick Saxby – who has been campaigning hard in the town – pushing him all the way.
But the Conservative candidate managed to secure his seat by 52 votes, with 847 compared to Mr Saxby's 795.
Meanwhile, Prees has returned Councillor Paul Wynn at the 2021 local elections.
Cllr Wynn, who lives in Whitchurch, was the Conservative candidate for the ward he has served since 2009.
His victory was confirmed on Friday, defeating Liberal Democrat candidate Julie Bushell by 991 votes to 305.
