A YOUNGSTER from Whitchurch has helped raise more than £200 by donating her hair to a specialist charity.

Jasmine Edgerton, 11, has had 11 inches taken off her hair and donated it to the Little Princess Trust.

The Little Princess Trust is a charity that provides real hair wigs, free of charge, to children and young people who have lost their own hair through cancer treatment.

Jasmine was due to undertake the fundraiser earlier this year but lockdown meant the plans were put on hold.

But she has now completed it, and raised £230 in the process.

Mum Stacey says she is incredibly proud of Jasmine.

"Jasmine asked if she could donate her hair to the little princess trust back in the new year but with lockdown in place had to wait until now to be able to donate it," she said.

"Jasmine has raised a wonderful amount of £230 for the charity and has had 11 inches cut off her hair.

"Thankyou to each and everyone who has supported her and donated money to sponsor the chop.

"She is so happy to have been able to help the charity in donating her locks and raising an amazing amount for the charity too, she should be very proud of herself."
