THE news that close-contact services are allowed to reopen from Monday is even more exciting for one Oswestry salon owner who is preparing to open her new shop.

Amy Price, who owns Hidden Gem salon, will open the doors at her new premises in Beatrice Street on Monday, after moving from her previous base at Oswald Road.

Having been on maternity leave since before the Covid-19 pandemic, and having to endure multiple enforced closures because of lockdown, Amy said it is a delight to know she will be welcoming customers back with a new-look shop next week.

“It’s amazing,” she said.

“Being in lockdown and the salon not being open has been tough, but now we’ve had the green light to reopen and the new shop as well is fantastic.

“The shop is bigger and better than where we were previously.

“I’m set to be very busy for the next month-and-a-half after reopening.”

Amy insists the new shop will allow more space for social-distancing and will be more accessible for disabled customers.

She added: “I was a bit out of the way and [my shop] wasn’t as big, meant it would be harder to socially-distance.

“So to have this shop is brilliant. It’s a better opportunity going forward for myself and my daughter hopefully.

“There is more potential and it will be easier for people to socially-distance.

“It’s great to know we’ll be back open next week – it will be nice for customers to come in and have someone to talk to and have a pamper as well.”
