AN ASH resident has called on irresponsible dog walkers to take their dog's waste home or bin it, and stop leaving it in a hedge near his home.

Stewart Beech, from Ash, says he he has been having to do more clearing up in the village, on the outskirts of Whitchurch, in recent months.

And he wants people to stop leaving bags of dog poo in hedges when they are out walking.

"I just want people to stop doing what they are doing," he said.

"I pick the paper up that people drop out of their cars.

"Where I live, they walk their dogs and they have just thrown the bags in the hedge.

"One person tried to to do it outside my house in front of me and I asked him if he was going to pick it up. He replied 'here, why?' and I told him because I live here.

"I'm just asking people to pick it up and take it with him.

"I've asked the council to do something and they say there might be a bin going in – there was a notice about it in the village but it got ripped down.

"But the dog muck hasn't been picked up."
