PATIENTS at Wem and Prees Medical Practice are set to begin receiving their second Covid-19 vaccinations this month.

The first vaccinations were administered in January, to start the process of building up protection against the virus.

This second dose will then work to greatly reinforce this protection.

From April 14, patients will begin receiving their vaccinations, with calls going out following Bank holiday Monday.

A spokesman for Wem and Prees Medical Practice explained.

They said: "We are now sending out invitations for second Covid vaccinations at Prees Vaccination Hub ready for our first clinic in April.

"If you were called before we will be calling you again and those that we have a mobile number will receive a text with a link to book directly into the clinic.

"This will be happening over the next week as we work through the list, please do not worry that you will be missed we will be working through by date order.

"Those that were vaccinated on January 28 at Prees will be contacted first and thereafter by date order.

"Although we will start calling tomorrow, due to Easter Bank Holiday most calls to patients will be made from Tuesday onwards.

"Clinic dates are April 14 onwards."
