WEM Town Council will discuss a potential return to face-to-face meetings at its monthly full town council on Thursday.

The meeting, which will take place over Zoom from 7pm, will include discussions of the potential return to physical meetings following the local elections in May, when government legislation allowing for remote meetings ends.

Councillors will discuss guidance from the National Association of Local Councils (NALC) about what options are available to them.

This includes ensuring that councillors and the public remain socially-distanced; provision of hand sanitizer for entry and exit; staggering arrival times and all wearing masks.

Also on the meeting's agenda is a request from Councillor Chris Mellings concerning the future organisation of the Wemian magazine, following the decision of the current editors and treasurer to step down from the roles.

There will also be an update on Shropshire Council’s plans for the future location of Wem Library once the lease ends in 2022.

Meanwhile, councillors will also consider the applications for the council's small grants scheme, and decide accordingly.
