AN ELLESMERE arts group is calling on public help to create two-foot high 'Sprites' for a community event in May.
Fizzgigs, which runs a number of projects in the town, have set a series of challenges for young and old during the various lockdowns.
The latest is to make the Sprites as part of a May Day event, and a spokesman said they are hoping all can join in.
"Make a 'Sprite of Spring'", they said. "We're all making Sprites so they can take part in the Sprites of Spring Fizzgigs community arts event during the May Day weekend.
"At the last Merefest we created a Sprites’ party in a small woodland clearing.
"It was dark and they were painted and dressed in white, lit by torches and fire cans for atmospheric and ethereal effect.
"This spring we are planning a community arts event on the May Day weekend where they will be in full daylight, possibly dancing round a mini-maypole.
"Therefore they will need to be twice the size or more, around two foot, and dressed in lively, brightly coloured clothes."
The group has published instructions on how to construct a Sprite on its website.
