IT WAS a mixed set of results for the Malpas, Oswestry and Friends teams last week in the Four Nations Chess League.
On Tuesday, February 9 in Division Two, the first team lost 3.5 to 0.5 with captain Charles Higgie managing a draw on board three while everyone else lost.
The second team lost 2.5 to 1.5 with the points coming from a win on board three by Phill Beckett and a draw on four by Peter Lovatt.
In Division Four the third team won 4-0 with wins by Liam Penny, Adrian Bailey, Paul Cox and Peter Fisher.
In Division Seven the fourth team also won 4-0 with wins by Keith Grice, Jonathan Smith, Gary Varjian and Slawomir Ksiazek.
