ROADS in Shropshire and Cheshire continue to be affected by flooding with full and partial closures in place.

The A41 remains closed in both directions between the Tern Hill roundabout and the Prees Heath roundabout because of flooding.

Market Drayton Police said: "A41 Tern Hill to Whitchurch is still closed at this time due to flooding.

"Please do not ignore the signs they are there for a reason."

The A534 Broxton Road is closed and traffic is queuing because of flooding in both direction from the A41to Holywell Lane. This is affecting traffic between Nantwich and Wrexham.

The A525 at Bangor-on-Dee is also closed in both directions because of flooding.

Several smaller roads in the area affected but my not be closed and road users are advised to avoid all but essential journeys.

A spokesman for Cheshire Police said: "Avoid driving unless it is essential.

"If you do have to travel, switch your headlights on and do not attempt to drive through floodwater.

"It only takes a small amount of water to seriously damage your engine, and put yourself or others at risk."
