FOUR people were fined in Whitchurch over the weekend for breaching Covid-19 restrictions.

The fixed penalty notices were given out by Whitchurch Safer Neighbourhood Team to a group of friends who gather at an address to watch to the weekend's football.

A spokesman for Whitchurch SNT said they would continue to act of those who breached lockdown restrictions.

They said: "This evening Whitchurch SNT have given four people fixed penalty notices – a group of friends who thought it was good idea to go to a friends house to watch football – in complete disregard of the national lockdown.

"All four were reported for the offence.

"While the most are following the rules there still are a small minority of people who are blatantly ignoring them, we will act upon this."
